About Cool Down Heating and Air

Ricky Roberts grew up around HVAC. His dad was in the trade, and Ricky started riding along on service calls at eight years old. He watched, learned, and by his mid-twenties was working on systems hands-on. There was no technical degree and no classroom shortcut. Everything Ricky knows about heating and cooling came from doing the work, solving problems in the field, and learning from people who had already been doing it for decades.

Before going out on his own, Ricky worked for multiple HVAC companies across the Tulsa area. He learned the business side, built his skills across residential and commercial systems, and figured out what kind of company he wanted to run. In February 2019, he launched Cool Down Mechanical. A couple of years in, after scaling up with a larger crew that wasn’t meeting his standards, Ricky hit the reset button. He scaled back, rebranded to Cool Down Heating and Air, and rebuilt from the ground up with a smaller team focused on doing things right.

That decision shaped everything about how the company operates today. Ricky is still on the tools. He personally oversees installs, checks on jobs, and answers his own phone. He has four kids, coaches his nine-year-old son’s 10U baseball team, and believes that the same values that guide his family should guide his business: tell the truth, do clean work, and stand behind the results.

We won’t install anything we wouldn’t put in our own grandma’s or parents’ house. That’s the standard. If it’s not right for your home, we’ll tell you, even if it means we make less on the job.
